Description
Located in charming Waasmunster, between GhT and ANT, this setting combines easy accessibility with peace and quiet. In just 20 minutes you can reach vibrant city centers, while at home you enjoy the green Durme Valley and vast fields within walking distance. All daily amenities are close by. Behind a discreet wooden gate and hedge lies Villa Zonneweelde, a 1928 residence that entered a new chapter in 2022 thanks to Contekst Architects. Here, the past is not a limitation but a source of inspiration. Inside, terrazzo floors and the striking red staircase stand out as a modern nod to history. The kitchen unfolds through a rounded arch, combining a stainless-steel cooking island with dark green oak and a wire cabinet by Muller Van Severen, adding an artistic accent. A thoughtfully designed extension turns the garden into a natural continuation of the living space. Through an old fireplace you reach the winter garden, where floor-to-ceiling windows bring the horizon indoors and an oak-clad fireplace provides warmth. Raw concrete merges seamlessly with parquet, mouldings, and panel doors: a balance between raw and refined. On the first floor, three spacious rooms with high ceilings await: two bedrooms and a study with custom-made furniture, which connects via a fixed staircase to the attic. This flexible space can serve as a playroom or as a master suite. The bathroom blends wood and terrazzo into timeless harmony. Outside, a Mediterranean garden by Damien Derouaux completes the picture: a touch of Provence around a home that unites heritage, design, and the joy of living.
