Description Feel at home in Chalet Anna-Helena, a warm wooden chalet nestled in the Drongengoedbos, the largest forest in East Flanders. This two-story chalet offers space for 5 guests and features an interior wrapped in natural wood. The ground floor features a light-filled living room with large windows overlooking the garden. The spacious leather corner sofa invites you to curl up with a throw and a scented candle. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need: oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The dining table seats the whole family comfortably. Upstairs, you'll find a master bedroom and a second bedroom perfect for children. The modern bathroom (en-suite to the kids room) is bright and freshly finished, with a shower and all essentials (shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer). Outside, a generous terrace with garden furniture, an atmospheric pond, and a fully private garden where children can play with ease. The first-floor balcony offers views over the surrounding greenery. Free parking for 2 cars is available on the premises. Chalet Anna-Helena sits in the heart of the Drongengoedbos in Ursel, a charming village in the Meetjesland region. Step right from your doorstep into the Meetjesland Forest walking network with over 236 kilometers of signposted trails. The historic Drongengoed Farmstead, dating back to 1746 and now a visitor center with a terrace, herb garden, and exhibitions, is within walking distance. Children love the Gnome Trail (1.5 km) with playful hands-on activities and the adventurous nature playgrounds scattered through the forest. The Maldegem Heath, a stunning nature reserve with heather and boardwalk paths, feels like the High Fens. In the village of Ursel itself, you’ll find lovely dining options: Villa Maria, Bar Boudoir, and Brasserie Het Jagershof at the forest’s edge. The Castle of Poeke, the market square of Aalter, and the Ghent–Bruges canal are also wonderful day-trip destinations nearby. Chalet Anna-Helena is a place for rest and reconnection and is not suitable for parties or events. Pets are not allowed. The chalet is accessed via a forest track, so it is recommended to drive carefully on arrival, especially in wet weather. Wear sturdy footwear when heading into the forest, as some paths can be muddy, particularly in autumn and winter. During breeding season (April–July), certain paths in the Drongengoedbos are closed to protect rare bird species, but alternative routes are always available. Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 9 AM. Please note that there will be a military exercise in the region between March 23th and April 3rd. Show all Show less
